Born into a family where her grandmother was the Iemoto (headmaster) of Edo Kouta (a style of short songs), she majored in Kiyomoto (a genre of traditional Japanese narrative music) at the Tokyo University of the Arts (Tokyo Geidai).
As Kiyomoto Enshisae and Kouta Shihan (master) Kasuga Toyokikumi, she has appeared in numerous concerts, dance performances, radio programs, and commercials. Simultaneously, she is affiliated with the Asakusa Kenban (a traditional geisha management office) where she serves as a Jikata (instrumentalist/singer for performances).
She also hosts Kouta and Kiyomoto classes both at the Kenban and at her home. Furthermore, she regularly updates her approachable classical Japanese music YouTube channel, “Shisa Channel,” which has over 3,500 followers.
