Shogo Hiyoshi

日吉章吾

Graduated from the Faculty of Music, Department of Traditional Japanese Music, at the Tokyo University of the Arts (Tokyo Geidai), and completed graduate studies at the same university.

Awards: Recipient of the Grand Prize at the 1st Hidenori Tone Memorial Japanese Music Competition, and the New Artist Award at the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ Arts Festival in 2016.

Studies: Studied Ikuta-ryū Sōkyoku (Ikuta-style Koto music) under Chizuru Miki and Chieko Kanazu, and Kokyū (Japanese bowed instrument) under Sūshū Takahashi.

Titles & Affiliations: Holds the title of Shihan (Master) of the Sōkyoku Seigensha (Koto music organization). Member of various groups including the Chizuru-no-kai, Mori-no-kai, and Heike-Gatari Research Group. Associate member of the Juonkai.

Teaching: Serves as a Part-Time Lecturer at the Tokyo University of the Arts.

東京藝術大学音楽学部邦楽科卒業。同大学院修了。第1回利根英法記念邦楽コンクール最優秀賞、2016年度文化庁芸術祭新人賞を受賞。生田流箏曲を三木千鶴氏、金津千重子氏の各氏に師事。胡弓を髙橋翠秋氏に師事。箏曲正絃社師範。千鶴の会、森の会、平家語り研究会、各会員。重音会会友。東京藝術大学非常勤講師。
